The Fyfe Ensemble is a contemporary jazz collective known for its refined musicianship, deep swing, and modern sensibility grounded firmly in the jazz tradition. With an expanding international presence, the ensemble has performed across major jazz hubs including New York, Montreal, and London, earning recognition for its elegant sound and cohesive group interplay.
The ensemble’s repertoire and recorded output reflect a strong commitment to melodic clarity and rhythmic sophistication, with critically acclaimed releases including Late Night (2022) and Stepping Stones (2024), alongside notable collaborative projects such as In This Moment (2022), Opening Statement (2017), and Conduit (2014). These recordings highlight the group’s versatility and their ability to balance tradition with a contemporary voice.
Members of The Fyfe Ensemble are alumni of the Manhattan School of Music and McGill University, having studied under respected mentors including Jeremy Manasia, Garry Dial, Andre White, and Joshua Rager. The group has appeared at renowned venues such as Smalls, Mezzrow, PizzaExpress Jazz Club, and Ronnie Scott’s, establishing a reputation for polished, world-class performances.
Drawing inspiration from jazz greats including Bill Evans, Bobby Timmons, Wynton Kelly, and Cedar Walton, The Fyfe Ensemble’s artistry is steeped in the lineage of the genre. Their collaborative reach spans North America and Europe, with performances and partnerships alongside leading international musicians, resulting in a sound that is sophisticated, expressive, and deeply rooted in jazz heritage while remaining unmistakably modern.
