Eagles describes his brand of jazz as cinematic and expressive, painting a picture for the listener to experience each song as a collection of individual stories. His music combines many influences, bringing funk, blues, and avant-garde into the fundamentals of jazz.

His latest album on USA label Ropeadope marked his place on the international music scene and lead to performances in the UK and Europe including opening for Joshua Redman at the Barbican concert hall in London.

As well as running his own groups, Duncan is also very much in demand as a sideman, and has performed with some of the top names and bands in the music world including Gary Husband, Zara McFarlane, Melt Yourself Down, Darius Brubeck, Ola Onabule and Janek Gwizdala to name a few.

It takes a high level of creative and physical energy and Duncan Eagles has both in spades.
